Instead of playing MP3 files the Pono plays FLAC files at an impressive 9216 kbps. Keep in mind that most of us consider high quality files to be a mere 320 kbps in comparison.
Pono Raises Millions On Kickstarter
Since the Pono isn’t available yet, production funds have been raised via kickstarter. In fact, there has been over $4 Million pledged so far to get the Pono into production. That’s an incredible amount of money, and no doubt the endless list of celebrity endorsements in the video is helping. If the sound quality is to be believed, then jumping on this early via Kickstarter might not be a bad idea.
