Out With The Old
Expanding upon their quest to be THE quintessential music based social network, it looks like SoundCloud has added a new messaging feature. You can now share a track privately to your friends on SoundCloud or to an entire group if you wish. Looks like this will be pretty integral to “the new soundcloud” as they’ve removed the previous messaging system all together.
Don’t Spam Me
My first worry about this system was “great, now everyone is going to spam me and send me their tracks that I didn’t request.” According to this more detailed help article you’ll be able to mute/block people from sending you messages.
