This is something I’ve been curious about lately in regard to playing night club venues. Â I’m sure those of us who play the clubs regularly have nights where we cater to the crowd more than usual [mostly on the weekend] and hopefully charging more for those kinds of gigs. Â My question for everyone is this though, do you charge less to play what you love to play?
For example, my favorite genres to play are hip-hop [non commercial stuff] and r&b/soul so when a gig comes along that allows me to play those genres all night without catering to the crowd, I generally charge less. Just wondering if I’m the only one or if that’s common?
